Horse Details

Marty is a handsome 16.2hh bay 9 year old tb gelding. He finished his racing career a little over a year ago and has been enjoy a more relaxed life style since. He is generally very laid back and quiet to ride, never strong, spooky or sharp.

I took Marty on straight from the yard he was training at and he has been a pleasure to have on the yard. He is easy to do in every way and a real gentleman both to handle and ride.

He does a lot of hacking, is very well behaved alone and in company and doesn’t get strong cantering on his own or in a group. He works quite sweetly in the school although needs to continue to work on his suppleness. He has been out to some local dressage shows where he was well behaved and worked well. He is bold to jump, especially cross country, where he’s also very happy with water, ditches and drops.

He has been out cubbing regularly and hunting a couple of times where he was bold and keen. Although he will happily hunt and he is by no means unsafe, he does find it exciting and is not the most relaxing ride, especially if there is a lot of standing around.

Very sad sale as I have become very attached to Marty. I took him on to rehabilitate from racing and believe he is now ready to go and live happily ever after in his forever home. He would suit a competent pleasure rider looking to have fun and enjoy their riding with very kind and sweet-natured horse willing to give most things a go.
